Lynkarr vs Canva
If the code is going into something you are designing in Canva, the convenience is real. The question is what happens to it afterwards.
A design tool with QR code generation built into the editor.
What Canva does well
- The code is placed in the artwork you are already making, with no exporting, importing or scaling in between.
- Static codes work the same on every Canva plan, including the free one.
- Dynamic codes exist, with editable destinations and pattern customisation.
Side by side
| Canva | Lynkarr | |
|---|---|---|
| Static codes | Their help centre states the destination is not editable and there are no trackable analytics. | The same โ a static code is a static code. Ours are unlimited and free. |
| Scan analytics on a dynamic code | Listed as requiring Canva Business, Enterprise or Nonprofit. | Included on every plan, including the free one. |
| Custom logo on a dynamic code | Listed as Business, Enterprise or Nonprofit. | Included on every plan. |
| Expiry dates on a code | Listed as Business, Enterprise or Nonprofit. | Included on every plan. |
| Where the code lives | Inside the design, in the design tool. | In a library of its own, with the artwork it went into being a separate matter. |
Figures for Canva read from canva.com โ Create and manage QR codes on 29 August 2026. Ours were checked against the running product on the same day. Prices change โ if you find one of these out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
A code outlives the design it was drawn in
The poster is finished in an afternoon; the code on it is scanned for two years. Once the campaign moves on, the questions are about the code โ where does it point now, how often is it scanned, which of these forty codes is on which product โ and those are asked long after anybody opens that design again.
That is the difference in shape rather than in features. A design tool organises by document. A code platform organises by code, which is what you need when the artwork is finished and the paper is out in the world.
The paid line falls in a different place
Canva's own comparison puts analytics, custom logos, expiry dates and collaborator editing on Business, Enterprise and Nonprofit plans. That is entirely reasonable for a design tool where QR codes are one feature among hundreds.
Here they are the product, so they are on every plan including the free one. If you are already paying for Canva Business, this difference may not be worth a second subscription โ which is a real answer, not a polite one.
When Canva is the better choice
Use Canva's own QR codes if you are already on Canva Business or above and the code is one element of a design you are making there anyway. Two subscriptions to solve one problem is not an improvement.
And one thing we do not solve at all: if you need to know who scanned a code โ a named person, an audience to retarget โ we cannot do that and will not add it. Our analytics identify nobody by design. That is a reason to look elsewhere and we would rather say so here than after you have paid.
