Somewhere for the code to go

Not everybody has a page worth pointing a code at. Build one here in the time it takes to write the copy, and repoint the code at it.

What a page can hold

Headline, text, images, buttons and links, on a layout that is readable on a phone by default rather than as an afterthought. Published at an address you can point any code or link at.

Why not just link to your own site

Do, if the right page exists. A campaign page usually does not, and the alternative is dropping people on a homepage and hoping they find the thing the poster promised โ€” which is the most common way a QR campaign quietly fails.

It counts as a destination like any other

Views, visitors, places and devices, in the same reports as everything else, so a page and the code that feeds it are one story rather than two dashboards.
